According to information on Healthline about using onion juice on your hair, researchers have found that "the anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties of onions may help you grow your hair or enhance its healthy appearance".

According to a 2018 study in the Journal of Drug Delivery and Therapeutics, researchers created an onion shampoo by combining onion extract to a natural shampoo of coconut, castor, eucalyptus oils and cleansers.

They said that when it was applied to the scalp for five minutes, not only did it not cause irritation, but it also promoted hair growth and moisturised dry hair and scalp.

Before trying any new techniques on your hair, it's best to seek the advice of a professional.
