It was the 98th Academy Awards over the weekend (15 March), and all of Hollywood's biggest A-listers flooded the red carpet in their Sunday Best for the big occasion.
Some celebrities opted for a more minimal get-up, while others went all-out with a far more abstract fashion choice, including none other than Lisa Rinna, who donned a dress made from 11 pounds of real hair at Elton John’s 2026 Oscars party.
The ensemble in question was a one-of-a-kind Christian Cowan dress, complete with a whole load of brunette hair extensions. The look took a team of 16 people who dedicated 152 hours to the creation.
After catching light of the 62-year-old Days of Our Lives star's outfit choice, fans rushed to social media to share their thoughts, with one Reddit user commenting: "This seems very Lady Gaga coded tbh. I'm surprised she didn't do it first."

"I kind of like it lol. Plus, it's Lisa Rinna. She loves high camp," penned another.
And a third chimed in: "That sounds like a sensory nightmare!"
Speaking to Page Six Style about the look, designer Cowan explained: "With this project, I wanted to bring hair further into the world of fashion. Instead of hair simply finishing the look, it becomes the look."
Cowan, who worked alongside Tresemmé on the unique design, added that he became 'really fascinated with the texture and movement of hair itself'.
"Hair can be braided, wrapped, twisted or smoothed," he continued. "It behaves almost like fabric when you think about it."
He also told PEOPLE: "I wanted to celebrate the beauty of Lisa; she’s a tour de force. And, she’s so known for her iconic hair, so it felt fun to play with that."

Rinna herself commented on the look after sharing a series of snaps to Instagram earlier today (17 March) along with the caption: "Oscars couture but make it unexpected."
Unexpected is right!
Meanwhile, Cowan teased the look on Instagram the day before the Oscars (14 March), with a reel showing the making of the dress paired with the caption: "A-List hair, reimagined in the most iconic…legendary…way."
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star paired the hairy number with a statement silver choker necklace, diamond earrings and chunky silver rings, with her signature short and spiky hairdo to finish the look.
The hair was so long that her shoes weren't entirely visible, but we can only assume she had some fabulous footwear on too!
