Britney Spears responds after sons say they hope they can reconcile

Britney Spears responds after sons say they hope they can reconcile

They have very different views about her conservatorship.

Britney Spears has responded to her teenage sons saying that they hope to reconcile with her.

The 'Toxic' singer, 40, took to Instagram to respond to comments made by her son Jayden, 15, who opened up to the media about why he and his brother, Preston, 16, are on bad terms with her.

The teenager made the revelations to documentary filmmaker Daphne Barak, and they are set to be aired on ITV today (September 2).

Discussing their frayed relationship, Jayden said: "I 100 percent think this can be fixed. It's just going to take a lot of time and effort. I just want her to get better mentally.

"When she gets better, I really want to see her again."

Responding to her son, Britney wrote: "I would love nothing more than to see you two face to face.

"As for my mental health… [my] dear child understand you must learn to pick up a book and read one before you start to even thinking about my intellect sweetheart!!!!" she said.

Jayden then explained that one of the reasons he is on bad terms with his mother is because he doesn't agree with her view that her father Jamie abused his position in her conservatorship.

"[My grandfather] doesn't deserve all the hatred he is getting in the media. I love him, with all my heart," Jayden said, adding that 'he was just trying to be a father'.

He continued: "At first he was just trying to be like any father letting her pursue her daughter's dream of becoming a superstar but I did think maybe the conservatorship went on too long, probably why my mum was very angry about the whole situation that she was working for too long and I personally think she was."

Reacting to this revelation, Britney wrote: "If you can honestly sit back and say with your sensible brilliant mind what [grandma and grandpa] did to me was fine and call them not bad people…then yes I have failed as a mother and hopefully that's a chat for you and your father to sit face to face and try to learn WHAT'S GOOD."

She then urged her sons not to 'forget where they came from'.

"I hope you can look in the mirror and remember… you are my child and always will be. Since Preston didn't speak, I send my love," she wrote.

In the interview, Jayden explained why he and his brother didn't attend his mum's wedding in June to Sam Asghari.

"At the time it just wasn’t a good time to go," the 15-year-old said. "I'm not saying that I’m not happy for her, I’m really happy for them, but she didn't invite the whole family and then if it was just going to be me and Preston, I just don’t see how that situation would have ended on good terms."

Jayden's comments come after his father Kevin Federline speculated that it was 'tough' for him and Preston, 16, to see the nude pictures Britney regularly posts on social media.

"I can't imagine how it feels to be a teenager having to go to high school," he said.
