Kylie Jenner appears to have sparked unexpected new Gen Z trend following her birthday party
Kylie Jenner is no stranger to starting trends - remember when everyone wanted those lip kits?
Now she seems to have inspired a whole new fashion trend thanks to her 'birthday eve' celebrations.
Jenner threw a party the night before her 29th birthday, and it was a very, very sparkly occasion.
As well as having three birthday cakes, she also bedazzled everything in sight with stick on gemstones.

It was a very 90s affair with plenty of colour, and Jenner shared a series of snaps captioned: "Happy bday eve to meeee. I had my dream princess kitty bday night. My heart [is] so full. I love my life and my friends."
One of the cakes was covered in kittens with 'Happy birthday kitty Kylie' written on, while a second was of a bikini clad torso with 'meow meow meow' written on the briefs.
The one that has got everyone talking though was a white cake absolutely covered with the brightly coloured jewels.
It's unlikely that they were actually edible, as they look just like the peel-and-stick jewel sheets from your youth (if you're a millennial) but people are going crazy for them.
One commenter shared that they were bracing themselves to see it appearing on influencer pages, and sure enough...
Another wrote "There's this Tweet that went viral these days about a cake with rocks from one of the Kardashians... someone commented that all the influencers would start posting stuff with rocks too… and then this showed up on my Insta" along with photos of bejewelled phone cases and nails.
The Kylie Cosmetics page joined in too, sharing pics of some of their products covered in the gems: "King Kylie said jewel stickers are back."
Another style influencer shared pics of their bedazzled drinks cups, while another account wrote: "Bedazzled beverage cups are everywhere this summer, with creators - and Kylie Jenner herself - sharing photos of their cups covered in gems and lots of colourful rhinestones.
One fan praised: "This is my kind of whimsy!"
"Ohh i see a new trend coming" predicted one commenter, as another shared the urge: "I need to jewel stick everything!"
"I need this on my pink drink!" insisted another.
Others shared concerns about the waste of plastic though: "yay i love more plastic on my plastic that will be thrown away in an hour!!" said one, sarcastically, while others urged people to only do it to reusable cups.
As well as the gemstones at her party, Jenner also had everyone clad in pink for real Barbie princess vibes.
We have a feeling this trend is only just beginning.
