A woman has revealed how she managed to save more than £2,000 by flying 6,000 miles to get her hair done, saying it was ‘100 percent worth it’.

Travel TikToker Bryn Elise is ‘obsessed’ with beauty tourism, and regularly flies across the globe for various procedures and treatments - from dental work in Thailand to tattoos in Colombia.

Earlier this week, she posted about a recent trip to Turkey for her 'dream hair', after prices at her salon in the US went up drastically.

“It all started last year, when I’d received an email from my US salon letting me know that they were raising the prices of the hair extensions I get to $4,450 [£3,508],” Bryn said.

“So I decided to do a little shopping around and realised a lot of the hair inspo photos I’d saved on Instagram were from this absolutely world-class stylist who lived in Turkey.

“So just out of curiosity, I slid into his DMs to get a quote.”

Bryn said the hair stylist told her he would do her ‘dream hair’ for just $500 (£394), so naturally she jumped at the chance and jetted off to Turkey on a 15-hour flight, with one layover.

Flights cost less than $700.

She ended up paying $671 (£529) on the return flights, between $200-$300 (£158-£237) on an Airbnb for the week and about $150 (£118) on food.

Along with the $500 for the hair, the TikToker spent as little as $1,521 (£1,199) - a saving of $2,929 (£2,309).

She loved the end result.

Bryn continued: “I get three pieces of 22-inch keratine bond extensions with bleaching, styling and everything for $500.

“As for flights, if you’re flexible with your dates, you can get tickets from the US to Istanbul for $700. And if you’re even more of a boss you can use points and miles, and then the flights would be free.

“An Airbnb in Turkey for a week is typically $200-$300. Food costs, maybe $150 a week - and the restaurants are nice!”

Showing off her finished hair, she said: “Just look at this, that son of a gun! He did it. Damn it, they’re good! $500 for this absolute wonder, this hair miracle.”

Her video racked up a whopping 4.8 million views and more than 520,000 likes - along with thousands of comments from impressed social media users.

“Not to mention the experience to travel along with it!” one said, adding: “So cool.”

Another agreed: “This whole plan is literally the best thing I’ve ever seen.”

A third wrote: “Save money, beautify yourself and vacation at the same time! I call that SMART!”
