Scarlett Moffatt Divides Followers With Blackhead Removal Technique

Scarlett Moffatt Divides Followers With Blackhead Removal Technique

What do you think?!

Scarlett Moffatt has divided TikTokers after using dental floss to remove pesky blackheads off her nose.

Posting a TikTok video of how it's done, all you'll need is cleanser, a towel and a dental floss stick. But some people were left divided over the trick. What do you think?

You can watch the video below:

"Best cheap beauty hack I’ve seen all lockdown so I’ve give it a go. If you have blackheads you need to do this," Scarlett wrote.

Some were impressed, with one viewer commenting on the video: "Omg I'm so self conscious of my nose because of my pores I'm trying this tomorrow! Have tried getting rid of them for probably 15 years!"

And another added: "Love this."

Meanwhile a third tagged a friend and said: "We're doing this."

Others were less than impressed, however, with some commenting that the technique could be 'damaging'.

While not everyone recommends using the floss as a method, to make sure you don't damage your skin, celebrity facialist Ada Ooi told Tyla: "The key is to prep the skin in a way that the blackheads are going to come out easier, otherwise you'll end up dragging the floss over the skin multiple times which can damage the skin barrier.

"To prep the skin, oil, cleanse and massage to soften dead skin and pore linings, attracting sebum to the surface. We recommend using Alpha Paradise Cleansing Dew.

"Next, exfoliate. Use a warm towel to open up the pores before flossing using gentle motions.

"Wipe clean (no need for cleanser as this can further strip the skin) and apply a water based gel cream to condition and rehydrate traumatised skin."

In other beauty news, earlier this week we told you how people are only just finding out how to use cocoa butter correctly.

If you apply cocoa body butter by scraping it out of the tub, you've been doing it wrong.

You can read more on that - and watch a video - here.
