Warning: The Marked Heart spoilers ahead.
The 14-part drama sees Simon’s wife, who is brutally murdered so that her heart can be transplanted to Camila, the sick wife of a rich and powerful man.
Simon is subsequently plunged into the dangerous world of organ trafficking in search of revenge but ends up falling in love with Camila, who survived thanks to his wife’s heart.
The Marked Heart came to a head in a shocking cliffhanger, though, when Camila faked her death and fled the country.
She told Símon of her plan to adopt a new identity, but Zacharias was sent video footage of Camila from Sarmiento, which showed her alive and photographing her new stomping ground.
Viewers took to Twitter to share their shock and outrage at the ending, with one social media user writing: “The ending to The Marked Heart on Netflix was such a cliffhanger.”
“They’re wrong for ending marked heart like that,” echoed another.
A different viewer penned: “Omg, The Marked Heart definitely had me at the end. I did NOT see that coming.”
“Finished The Marked Heart on Netflix in a day! I just love it,” another explained. “My concern was about the ending. Thought I was going to end up senseless, but not.”
Elsewhere, a different viewer seemed to enjoy the ending, tweeting: “Just finished The Marked Heart. That s*** was good as hell.”
Another viewer also appreciated the show’s, cliffhanger: “Why are people asking for a 2nd season?,” they asked.
“In my opinion, they should leave it like that because one thing they’re not gonna do is find a way to give us closure with the mafia, like that’s not gonna happen so what’s the point?”
The Marked Heart is available to stream now on Netflix.
