Squid Game Fans Think They've Spotted Netflix 'Filming Season 2'

Squid Game Fans Think They've Spotted Netflix 'Filming Season 2'

Could it be?!

Netflix's Squid Game has become the biggest television phenomenon this year and fans across the world are eagerly awaiting a second season.

However, some Squid Game fanatics believe filming has already begun.

Squid Game is no stranger to fan theories, and the most recent theory has arisen from a TikTok posted by Joshua Ruan who filmed a video from an unconfirmed location (some commenters think it's Niagara Falls in Canada) which looks a lot like the gruesome island from the show.

Watch the video below:

On a rainy and grey day Joshua filmed people in pink jumpsuits, which happens to resemble the costumes worn by the guards. They were filmed walking around the terrain and clustered on a boat together.

We must say, it all looks very eerie!

A fan in the comment section suggested Joshua actually stumbled onto the set of Squid Game, even though season 2 has not been ordered by Netflix.

“Or they just filming season 2,” the commenter wrote in response to Joshua declaring he “found the real Squid Game”.

The comment received more than 106,000 likes suggesting lots of people agree.

One person rightly asked where the camera operators are, to which Joshua quipped: “Hidden cameras”.

On the other hand, lots of TikTok users were in on the joke and identified the location as Niagara Falls, the second largest falls in the world spanning the border between Ontario in Canada and New York in the US.

“You at [Niagara] Falls… that’s the rain suit,” one person wrote.

While another user said the same, writing: “Boy that Niagara Falls”.

And in yet another twist, a few commenters said Joshua stumbled onto the set of a new Lil Nas X music video.

One user replied: “Nah bro hat’s just the new Lil Nas X music video.”

Someone else wrote: “Nah those are just the people in Industry Baby escaping.”

Some commenters joked that it was the set of a Lil Nas X video (

Netflix has not ordered another season of Squid Game but in the meantime series creator Hwang Dong-hyuk has revealed possible plots for the next instalment should it happen.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, he explained there were other stories 'that had not been addressed' yet.

"There are some other stories in the series that have not been addressed. For example, the story of the police officer and the story of his brother, The Front Man," he explained.

"I could also go into the story of that recruiter in the suit who plays the game of ddakji with Gi-hun and gives him the card in the first episode.

"... I’ll just say there are a lot of possibilities out there for season 2 storylines."

Although Hwang initially said a second season hadn't been in his plan, after the success of the first season, he told Variety: "I don't have well developed plans for Squid Game 2. It is quite tiring just thinking about it. But if I were to do it, I would certainly not do it alone. I'd consider using a writers' room and would want multiple experienced directors.

"It took me six months to write and rewrite the first two episodes. Then I consulted verbally with friends, and picked up clues for improvements through my own pitching and from their responses."

Squid Game is available to watch on Netflix now.
