Selling Sunset star Jason Oppenheim has finally spoken out about *that* fake phone call after fans called out the reality show's latest season for fabricating storylines.

The founder of the Oppenheim Group, where the glamorous Selling Sunset real estate agents operate, was the source of some serious confusion among viewers this season when he took an "important" phone call, only to be caught with his iPhone open on the Camera app. Watch the moment here:

When they spotted it, viewers immediately took to Twitter to call out Jason on his iPhone blunder.

One fan tweeted at the time: “Highlight of the new season of Selling Sunset is Jason going outside for an ‘important phone call’ and the camera zooming in to him having the camera app open.”

Another wrote: “Did anyone not see that on season 5 of Selling Sunset when Jason was on the phone it was on his camera? LMAO."

Jason's 'fake phone call' was just one instance from this season that had fans questioning just how authentic the Netflix reality series was.

After days of confusion Jason has finally broken his silence, and it turns out he really was on a phone call!

After being spotted by TMZ in Sunset Plaza, Jason was asked to demonstrate how he managed to open his Camera app while on the phone to a client.

Insisting that the call wasn't a fake, Jason offered to call his assistant in front of the reporter. While making the call, the reality star opened his iPhone camera and held it up to the reporter's ear to prove it was still ringing.

"It's not that complicated" he said. "I know that it was a real call I know that this works."

So that's that! Jason is officially in the clear.

Although, fans do still have some questions about Christine's alleged bribes to a wealthy client, and Emma's fishy Olympic-qualifying swimming past.

Can we bring Jason back to explain??

The fifth season of Selling Sunset is now available to watch on Netflix.
