"Word on the street is my accent is fake," said Chelsea.

"I know, it's all over the place, but listen, there's an explanation."

British born Chelsea later wrote on Twitter: "If you think you’re irritated with my accent, Imagine me? I almost fainted listening to myself back.

"You mean to tell me this is how I sound? WooooooooOOooW."

Selling Sunset fans had been confused over Chelsea's accent, after she was welcomed onto the fifth season of the Netflix show.

One person wrote on Twitter: "I will spend the rest of my life trying to figure out Chelsea Lazkani’s accent."

While another said: "I’m so confused by Chelsea off Selling Sunset’s accent."

And a third added: "Surely Chelsea on selling sunset is an actress putting on a voice because what on earth is her accent."

Others were quick to defend the realtor, however, with one person adding: "Everyone saying Chelsea’s accent is fake London… it just sounds like an American and London accent blended to me. She’s been there for 6 years. It’s possible, duh."

Chelsea opened up about her accent. (

Chelsea is a graduate of the University of Birmingham and the University of Dundee. She worked in the corporate world until 2017 when she obtained her real estate license and started working for Rodeo Realty, a group based in Los Angeles.

Chelsea revealed in an interview with People that she was "very familiar with Oppenheim Group" and knew Jason Oppenheim through her husband, Jeff Lazkani.

The couple have two children together: a three-year-old son named Maddox Ali Lavon and a two-year-old daughter, Melia Man.

"I think having the support of my husband and my family really essentially prepared me to take on this role and this opportunity," she told People.
