Piers Morgan Criticised Over 'Warning' To Meghan Markle

Piers Morgan will return to The Sun as a columnist and gave Meghan, Duchess of Sussex a 'warning'.

Piers Morgan has received criticism online after he issued a 'warning' to Meghan Markle shortly after his new job was announced.

The former Good Morning Britain presenter has announced on Thursday he will work alongside media giant Rupert Murdoch to launch a new national television station called talkTV.

He will also join The Sun as a columnist months after he walked on his previous hosting gig after refusing to apologise for comments about Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex’s mental health.

Piers spoke to The Sun about his new job for an interview held at the Scarsdale Tavern pub in Kensington where he first met Meghan.

“And I need to say a special thank you Meghan. As we sit drinking now, it was five years ago I met her here," he said.

“And I bet she was sitting there celebrating my departure from Good Morning Britain so this move will be the stuff of nightmares for her. So cheers Meghan!”

One Twitter user suggested Piers was seeking 'revenge' because Meghan did not wish to have a friendship with the former News of the World editor.

They tweeted: "And all this started because Meghan Markle didn't want to continue a friendship with Piers Morgan...and the ego of a middle aged man couldn't deal with the reality that a young woman wasn't interested in him."

Another Twitter user wrote: "His obsession with Meghan Markle is beyond creepy."

While a third commenter said: "Piers Morgan life revolve around Meghan Markle he mention her name at every opportunity."

And a fourth Twitter user reacted the news of Piers' new job, sharing: "Oh for the love of God, please, no. He’s just going to bang on about Meghan."

On Wednesday Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were named among Time magazine's top 100 influential people.

The Sussexes were photographed in their home in California and a short profile written by José Andrés, founder of the World Central Kitchen. The profile highlights their charity work and 'compassion' for helping those in need.
