Peaky Blinders Fans Have A Dark Theory About The Curse On Tommy's Family

And it makes sense…

Peaky Blinders is back for its very final season, and naturally, fans are dissecting each scene to piece together theories or clues about how the series ends.

One theory that’s gaining traction is to do with Tommy Shelby and his family being ‘cursed’.

Fans will remember that Tommy’s daughter, Ruby, is dangerously sick in hospital – with Tommy fearing she may be the victim of a curse as she keeps repeating Romani words: “Tickna mora o'beng.”

And one savvy viewer believes that the so-called curse has a link to Tommy’s political allegiances.

Taking to Reddit’s r/PeakyBlinders thread, one person wrote: “I think the gypsy curse put on Ruby has something to do with fascism. Pretty much anytime time he makes a fascist speech, Ruby becomes sicker.”

Tommy has been tightly linked to fascists in more recent episodes: he’s embroiled with the British and Irish fascists to undermine their goal of installing a fascist leader in Britain, part of an intricate plan to to avenge Polly’s murder, make millions and earn his escape.

The Shelbys have also been afflicted by a ‘gypsy curse’ before – Grace Shelby was wearing sapphire jewellery that was thought to be cursed by a gypsy before she was shot and killed in season three.

However, there’s another theory doing the rounds – Tommy himself is seriously ill.

After episode two of season six aired on Sunday night, viewers expressed concern, having watched Tommy suffering from a seizure in the bathroom.

Elsewhere in the episode, after rushing back to Birmingham to check on his daughter Ruby, Tommy appeared to fall ill, secretly throwing up outside of the hospital.

While Tommy may have simply come down with a bug, or be suffering from his PTSD, some fans are theorising that the Shelby family leader might be more sick than he's letting on.

Discussing the situation on Reddit, one viewer asked: "Anyone else think Tommy may have a brain tumour?"

You can read more about that here.
