Married At First Sight UK shares first look at dramatic cheating scandal

We finally have our first look at the drama that is set to unfold on the next Married at First Sight episode. Watch the teaser below:

The teaser aired at the end of Thursday's (22 September) episode and shows the couples as they embark on a retreat together.

Earlier this week, it was reported that the drama in the current series reaches such an extreme peak the show had to stop filming.

The shocking revelation was made by Paul C Brunson, who is one of the show’s experts. He said the cameras had to stop rolling after a 'wild' wife swap.

Speaking to OK! Magazine, Brunson said after two of the couples decided to make a switcheroo, the producers came to the decision it was in everyone's best interests to take a breather.

The teaser above strongly hints at the two people at the centre of the brewing drama.

A voiceover in the clip says: “The couples head off on a mini break, tempers flare between Thomas and April..." before a short scene is shown of Thomas losing it.

"And a secret crush is revealed..."

In one scene, new contestant Matt – who viewers saw tie the knot with Gemma last week – reveals he may have his eye on someone else.

“If I had to choose somebody different in here, I'd probably say Whitney,” he says, as the camera cuts to Whitney’s husband Duka.

The teaser then shifts to the women and Thomas have the same chat and it appears Matt’s interest in Whitney is mutual.

"I'd probably have to say Matt,” Whitney says. “I can see that he's like a good person."

Gemma and Matt’s relationship has hit a rough patch after the barber shop owner struggles to come to terms with the salon owner’s sexual sense of humour.

In an episode of the show that aired on Tuesday (20 September), Gemma could be seen tearing up as she confronted Matt over dinner.

Surrounded by the other couples, Gemma said 'you don't fancy me' but Matt argued that he'd just asked for space.

When the teaser cuts to Gemma’s reaction, it’s clear she’s seriously unimpressed with Whitney’s comment.

I'm questioning whether there's more to this story,” she says, away from the group conversation at the table. “My gut instinct is going crazy.”

Whitney and Duka have also struggled to find a connection, with the legal PA continuously calling her HR coordinator husband ‘fake’.

Married at First Sight UK airs Monday to Thursday at 9pm on E4.
