Dame Joanna Lumley has shared her thoughts about death, acknowledging that ‘there’s not all that amount of time left’ and the way this thought influences her life.
The screen legend is best known for her TV roles, including in the hit comedies Absolutely Fabulous and more recently Amandaland, as well as a number of films, and her activism.
The 78-year-old star has had a wealth on TV projects recently, including the Motherland spin-off, the acclaimed Netflix drama Fool Me Once, and a new ITV travel series for which she explores the 1,770-mile length of the River Danube.

Joanna also appeared in Coronation Street as one of Ken Barlow’s (played by William Roache) partners, and on the big screen, she had a role in The Wolf of Wall Street, Paddington 2, and a voice role in Corpse Bride, just to name a few.
Our national treasure is now sharing her candid thoughts about getting older, saying as per the Mirror: “I used to panic when I was young, but as I've got older I've started literally to live day to day. With age, you work out what matters.
"I always knew that good stuff would come along when I was older. When I was 18, I longed to be 30. When I was 30, longed to be 50.”

She also shared an uplifting message: “We mustn’t be led into thinking getting old is bad. Growing old is good.”
Joanna continued with a message to young people: “My big message to the young that you need time in your head. I’m so afraid we’re going to bred a generation who don’t know the world and don’t know how to talk.”
She shows no sign of slowing down, and when away from the cameras, she enjoys life with her husband, conductor Stephen Barlow, 70, and is a mother to her 57-year-old son Jamie and a proud grandmother to Alice, 22, and Emily, 21.
The Danube will follow Joanna as she travels along the Danube River which flows through Central and Southeastern Europe from its source in the Black Forest in Germany to the Black Sea, which is bounded by Bulgaria, Georgia, Romania, Russia, Turkey, and Ukraine.
