Married At First Sight's Olivia and Jackson announce split in shock statement

The statement reads: "After a wonderful 10 months together we have decided to go our separate ways. There has always been a lot of love in our relationship and there will continue to be as we transition into a friendship."

They added: "We have nothing but love and respect for one another, and no one is to blame for the end of this relationship. Simply a case of ‘almost perfect'.

"We hope you all can please show compassion as we navigate this privately. Love, Liv & Jack xx."

The statement was accompanied with several pictures of the former couple during their relationship, including their wedding ceremony.

Olivia and Jackson did not have to face as many issues as their peers during their time on the hit dating show.

However, Olivia’s feud with co-star Domenica Calarco certainly caused a stir which Jackson said he did not approve.

Olivia expressed her love for Jackson during their final vows and while Jackson shared his concerns in the episode, he also revealed his love for his partner.

Once the show wrapped, Jackson was filmed kissing another woman while on a night out in Melbourne.

Jackson apologised in an Instagram video in which he appeared alongside Olivia. “I'm just taking a second to jump on here and address what happened last weekend,” he began, before adding: “I f**ked up.

“The way I've kind of been dealing with [the negativity from the show] is to get blackout drunk, which don't get me wrong, it isn't an excuse, it's not acceptable.

“It's not the person I want to be. It's not who I am," he continued.

“I am seeking help to try and figure out new ways to combat my emotions and how to deal with this negativity.”

He added: “It has been sh*t, but I'm lucky to have Liv by my side and she has been nothing but an angel throughout it all.”

Towards the end of the clip, which was posted in June, Olivia claimed that the couple had no intention of splitting.

“We're staying together," she said. "We've got a lot of healing to do, but ultimately, we love each other and it's not worth throwing it away.”
