Love Island: Paige Left In Tears By Jacques' Comment In Dramatic First Look

In the first look at tonight's episode, Love Island contestant Paige is left teary after a comment made by Jacques in reaction to Jay expressing an interest in 'getting to know' her. Watch the first look below:

When Jay tells Jacques he wants to get to know Paige on a deeper level, the villa is engulfed in drama. The revelation comes after the Islanders played a game of truth or dare in Tuesday's episode (21 June) in which Jay was prompted to reveal which Islander he would couple up with if he was not with Ekin-Su.

The 28-year-old investment analyst from Edinburgh said Paige, and now it seems he is willing to act on his feelings.

Jacques reacts to the news by sharing it with Paige, explaining: "Jay just pulled me for a chat then, he says he's gonna get to know you, I was like 'yeah, sweet, crack on. It don't bother me lad'."

He added: "But he was honest about it so I was like 'yeah sweet. You just gotta do your thing'."

Later in the clip, Ekin-Su and Jacques have an argument about Jay's shocking confession. The former rugby player shouts: "He's getting to know people, why can't people get to know each other?"

However, Jacques seems unaware that his comments might have upset Paige, who is filmed in a later scene confiding in Tasha in the dressing room.

"What's getting to you?" Tasha asks.

Paige responds: "Just the whole Jacques thing, like... he's like 'yeah, go and have your conversation with Jay' and whatever. I'm just like... It's not really what I want, like. And I'm just a bit like, well are you pushing it that hard because, like, you're not feeling the same way? You either have, like, all of my effort or none of it."

Meanwhile, Jacques speaks in the beach hut about his feelings towards Jay intending to get to know Paige.

He says: "You can't go wrong with honesty. It's either going to make us worse, or better us. And, mate, I'm a big believer in things happening for a reason, so in the next few days we'll see how things unfold."

In tonight's episode (23 June), Jay will reveal all to his current partner Ekin-Su before the villa erupts into chaos.

Speaking with Ekin-Su at the fire pit, Jay says: “Obviously, you’ve probably sensed that I’ve been a bit off today and yesterday and it’s just because I want to be honest with my feelings. And I feel like because I moved so fast with you I didn’t get the chance to explore getting to know one Islander in particular here, which is Paige.”

Ekin-Su responds: “I’m shocked with the Paige thing – wow!”

Jay says: “I wanted to tell you first because I respect you and I owe you the respect.”
