Coco Lodge addresses why she quit Married at First Sight UK to go on Love Island instead

Coco Lodge addresses why she quit Married at First Sight UK to go on Love Island instead

"I was not in the headspace to do it"

Love Island's Coco Lodge has addressed quitting Married at First Sight in order to enter the villa.

Despite only having a brief stint as a Casa Amor bombshell, the 27-year-old made quite the impact by coupling up with Andrew Le Page before he went back to his former partner Tasha Ghouri.

Last month, when the latest season of Love Island was still in full swing, it emerged that Coco had given up a spot on the UK edition of Married at First Sight.

While both reality TV shows see contestants looking for love, they have very different formats.

If Coco had gone on to take part in the Channel 4 series, she would have been matched with and married off to a suitor before spending weeks going through a series of tests to see if they have formed a true connection.

In the latest video on her new YouTube channel, Coco addressed the switchover as part of a lengthy Q&A session in which she 'spills the tea' on her life.

One of the fans asked: "Do you regret not going on Married At First Sight?" Her response? "Not at all."

Coco explained: "I would still love to do it but I don't regret not doing it. I was not in the headspace to do it.

"I didn't choose Love Island over it, I was just not in the right headspace to do Married at First Sight at the time.

"So I went to Thailand and focused on me, then I came back and got offered Love Island."

The graphic designer went on to say that she'd 'absolutely' still do it, but that she doesn't regret it as her 'headspace was not there'.

Hopefully the producers of the Channel 4 show catch wind of this, as there's no doubt thousands of fans who would love to see Coco get another shot at love.

Elsewhere in the video, she opened up about any 'regrets' she might have about Love Island overall, saying: "I kind of regret going into Casa Amor.

"Not that you get a choice, you don't, and I kind of thought I'd be going in early when I first got the call back.

The Casa Amor star says she wouldn't rule out doing Married at First Sight in the future.

"However, you know, when Casa Amor came up I was like 'everything happens for a reason'.

"I haven't done too badly but I feel like people initially just don't like you, just because you're in Casa Amor - even though you don't get a choice and I'm not really the 'steal your man' kind of girl.

"That's just where I got put so it's what I had to do... that would probably be my only regret."
