I'm A Celebrity 2021: Fans Left Cringing As David Awkwardly Rejects Danny's Spoon Request

The I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! campmates have been away from their loved ones for quite some time now, so it's only normal that they might need a hug every now and then.

But viewers were left cringing, when Emmerdale's Danny Miller asked his idol and footballer David Ginola for a spoon, only to be rejected - poor Danny!

In the clip, Frankie Bridge asks Danny if he's feeling needy, to which he replies: "Feeling so needy today... dying for a spoon me you know, it's been ages since I had a little spoon."

He then turns to David and asks: "Do you want a spoon, me and you David?"

David however wasn't familiar with the term, but even once Danny explained it's essentially a hug, he didn't seem keen.

"Anyone?" Asks Danny.

Viewers found the incident a little cringy, with one person tweeting: "A bit creepy the obsession with David can we spoon ...ffs danny."

While another said: "Cringe or just playing for camera time."

Others found it hilarious, with another writing: "Danny pretending to be cool after being rejected for a spoon with David #ImACeleb."

And a fourth said: "Danny asking David for a spoon and David going 'oh god' has me in tears #ImACeleb."

Last week, Danny admitted he had been staring at David in his sleep. Discussing Danny being David's fan for decades, Danny explained: "He was like another Beckham wasn't he... And now I'm in bed with him."

Speaking in the Telegraph later, Danny said: "It's weird, I didn't know it was a dream, but it's become a dream and a dream has come true for me during this experience.

"It's David Ginola and I get to wake up to him, and there was a little part of me when I went for a wee in the middle of the night and I came back and I just found myself... sort of like wow this is surreal.

"And he turned over to this way and I absolutely cr***ed myself and just pretended to be asleep because I thought if he catches me staring at him like this he's going to think he is a weirdo!"
