People Are Comparing Cruel Summer To Pretty Little Liars

The new Amazon Prime Video show is proving popular.

There's a new show over on Amazon Prime Video and if you're a Pretty Little Liars fan then you're gonna' love it.

Cruel Summer landed on the platform last week and fans have been binge-watching it ever since.

So what's it all about? Well, the thriller is set in the 90s and takes place over three summers in 1993, 1994 and 1995. It focuses on Kate Wallis (played by Olivia Holt) - who goes missing in 1993 - as well as Jeanette Turner (played by Chiara Aurelia) who goes from being super popular to becoming the most hated person in America after Kate makes a serious accusation against her just a few years later.

The series is told from different points of view, and fans are describing it as 'jaw dropping'.

It also stars Michael Landes, Froy Gutierrez, Harley Quinn Smith, Brooklyn Sudano, Blake Lee, Allius Barnes, and Nathaniel Ashton.

Those who have watched the show are recommending it to Pretty Little Liars fans, due to its similar themes.

One person wrote on Twitter: "If you are a true crime junkie and liked Pretty Little LiarsCruel Summer is a show you must watch."

While another said: "Can they please allow Cruel Summer to survive? I haven’t been this invested since Pretty Little Liars and we all know how that went down."

And a third added: "Trying out Cruel Summer as it seems right up my Pretty Little Liars-influenced street."

Meanwhile a fourth commented: "Took me a while to fully get into Pretty Little Liars but now finished season 1. 6 more seasons to go. Cruel Summer looks similar and is now on Prime so might watch that too."
