It’s the Christmas present we’ve always wanted!

In new behind the scenes footage, Sarah Jessica Parker, who plays leading lady Carrie, revealed just a little taste of what we can look forward to in the brand new series.

“Hello from New York City, Fifth Avenue!” she says to the camera. “We’re shooting, as we speak, the next chapter of Sex and the City, or as we like to call it, And Just Like That, with some beloved friends.

“But in the meantime, whoosh!”

Sarah Jessica then reveals the premiere of And Just Like That will be in December in the States. A UK airdate is yet to be announced (but we’re hoping it’ll hit our shores soon after).

Little is known about the Sex and the City reboot, but an alleged script leak has suggested that there’s trouble ahead for Carrie and Big (or, John James Preston as his real name, as we discovered in the movies).

In a lunch scene with Stanford, Miranda and Charlotte, Carrie claims she’s been doing well – only to find out that Big had been “taking care of” his other wives.

“I was taping the podcast, I was washing my hair. Yes, I wasn't eating or sleeping, but at least I felt good about my marriage. Now I'm just one of the wives he was taking care of?” she says.

What could all this mean?

And Just Like That will also have a Samantha-shaped hole in the series, Kim Cattrall, who played the oversexed PR manager, chose to bow out the series due to her infamous ongoing feud with Sarah Jessica Parker.
