If you've ever taken a cute selfie on the front-facing camera of your iPhone only to be horrified by the result when you saw it later on your Camera Roll, this just might be the hack you've been waiting for.

The thing is, when you take a photo with your front-facing camera, the screen reflects the image back to you like you're looking in the mirror. But when the pic gets stored in your Camera Roll, the photo automatically flips the image.

In some ways, it's a convenient setting to have. For example, if there's text in your selfie, it'll appear backwards in the camera, like it would if you saw it in a mirror. But, once the picture is saved to your Camera Roll, it'll be flipped and you'll be able to read the text perfectly.

But, for those of us with asymmetrical faces, a selfie that's been flipped can be a terrifying thing.

Thankfully, that's where Lily comes in.

Sharing the nugget of wisdom with her fellow TikTokers, Lily revealed that there was a simple hack to keep your iPhone camera selfies looking like mirror images.

She told viewers: "Here's a hack if you want your selfies on your iPhone camera to not look reversed. Because we all know they look so bad and I refuse to take selfies [like that]. But this has changed the game."

We're hooked!

If you want to try this one out for yourself, all you need to do is go to the Settings app on your phone and scroll down to Camera.

In the Camera settings, there are a few features that can be switched on and off with the flick of a toggle. One feature is called 'Mirror Front Camera' which, as you can imagine, does exactly what it says on the tin.

And voilà! By flicking this switch, you're keeping your iPhone selfies in their mirror format.

People were pretty excited about Lily's hack, and took to the comments to thank her for imparting her wisdom.

"You’re a real one for this girl", wrote one impressed viewer.

"HACK OF THE YEAR. Thank you so much", raved a second.

A third simply commented: "Game changer."

And, offering up the ultimate compliment, a fourth wrote: "I hope your pillow is always cold."

Now, that's one happy customer.
