However, over on Reddit, people are claiming to have found a miracle skin mask that does just that.
Users are heaping on the praise for Innisfree volcanic pore clay mask, which costs just £13 a pot from Amazon.
The original poster explained: "I woke up this morning and the bigger pimples had come to a head and the redness was gone, while the smaller pimples just disappeared!
"I used a cotton bud to swab some clay and placed it on the areas where I had acne, making sure to cover the perimeter of the whole acne.
"When I woke up the clay was still in tact but the acne was not."
The Reddit user also said the mask stopped her from squeezing them, and it didn't leave any marks behind.
They weren't the only person claiming that the mask does wonders for their skin either.
"I dabbed some clay on two particularly large acne spots that hadn't quite come to head yet. Lo and behold, the next day they pretty much flattened out entirely. The red mark is still there but it's no where as huge of a bump as it was before," shared one person.
And another echoed: "I always do this, almost nightly. It works so well- in the morning they aren't inflamed and my skin isn't red. I swear by this."
"I've done this for a while. The clay masks draw impurities out of the follicle and dry up the sebum," praised somebody else.
Innisfree's mask is infused with volcanic ash, and is especially suitable for oily skin.
It claims it tights pores, removes sebum, exfoliates and scrubs away dead skin cells for a clearer complexion.
