Online fashion website ASOS has featured a model with a cochlear implant and fans are delighted with the representation.
Fans praised the retailer for using an earring model wearing a hearing device to sell a pair of its mushroom hoop earrings, on sale for £5.

It's the first time that shoppers have picked up on the brand's more diverse representation and it's fair to say they were excited.
Twitter user Asia wrote: "Definitely not crying because of @ASOS using an earring model with a hearing aid. It's the first time I've ever seen a model with a hearing impairment, let alone an earring model and its so refreshing to see this kind of representation for people like me."

Asia then clarified that the model was, in fact, wearing a cochlear implant rather than a hearing aid, and that she'd simply been too excited by ASOS's representation.
"Also I've had clarification from the lovely @GhouriNatasha (the aforementioned model) that it's a cochlear implant and not a hearing aid (which I did know, I just had a big ol' brain fart in the midst of my excitement)," she added in a second Tweet.
And others were quick to praise the brand too.

"That's so amazing. never seen any models on any sites with a hearing aid in," said one, while another fan wrote: "Yesssss! I love this. I've also got hearing aids and I never thought anything like this was possible. @ASOS are incredible."
"Agree, @asos has very inclusive and diverse models. Well done @asos!," said a third.
"This was something I didn't know I needed. A simple and small act like this just means a lot."

Model Natasha Ghouri, who appeared in the photo, added that this isn't the only modelling she's doing for the clothing brand.
She said: "I'm also modelling their clothes etc! So not just doing earrings which is the biggest achievement I've done! Proving out there that no matter what disability you've got.. you can do it."
Way to go ASOS!
