The latest John Lewis Christmas advert has finally landed on our screens, and you know what that means? The 2025 festive season has officially begun.
That's right, it's finally time to bring out the baubles, stock up on stuffing, and delve into defrosting Mariah Carey.
This year, the theme of the long-awaited advertisement is giving the perfect gift when you just can't find the perfect words.

"This year’s John Lewis Christmas campaign is a celebration of connection, memory, and the unspoken emotions that make the season truly magical," the superstore's director of brand Rosie Hanley explained.
"At John Lewis, we understand the power of a thoughtful gift, and we hope the ad will inspire our customers to find the gift that articulates their feelings, allowing the present itself to speak volumes where words may sometimes fall short."
Created by Saatchi & Saatchi, the 2025 promo has been cleverly set to Alison Limerick's 90s feel-good dance anthem 'Where Love Lives', but with a timely new twist introduced by music producer Labrinth.
For those who haven't yet feasted their eyes on this festive delight, John Lewis' latest advert hones in on an average family celebrating Christmas Day - specifically, a dad left somewhat saddened to see his teenage son in a world, blocking out his old man with his headphones.

Determined to get on with the day, the dad is then seen on his hands and knees under the tree, picking up scraps of paper left over from present unwrappings.

Suddenly, however, he notices an unopened present, the label reading, 'Dad'.
Opening the gift, he discovers a vinyl record of 'Where Love Lives' by Alison Limerick, taking to disk to his record player and dropping the needle.

Immediately, the opening bars of the toe-tapping track transport the doting dad to a 90s nightclub, where he's surrounded by long-lost friends who dance happily through strobe lights and questionable clothing.

Across the room, the dad then spots his teen son, before the youngster disappears into the lights.
Following him, he calls for his son as he then passes through to another memory, whereby the boy - this time, as a toddler - wanders lovingly towards him, with the music bridging the gap between then and now.

Eventually, the scene transitions back to modern day as the 90s music slows.

Finding himself back in his living room, the dad becomes overjoyed when his son returns from upstairs, watching on as his dad relishes his memories.
The youngster appears somewhat embarrassed until the dad pulls him in for a long embrace, with the father-son duo sharing a moment of silent gratitude.

The ad then ends with the tagline, 'If you can’t find the words, find the gift.'

We're not crying, you are!
