Hairstylist issues warning over one thing you should never do before getting your hair done

As if getting a haircut wasn't stressful enough, it turns out there are a lot of things we do that annoy our hairdressers

Gearing up to get your hair cut is a very stressful experience in and of itself - and not to pile on, but hairdressers have now started sharing the ways in which we annoy them online.

While it's easy to assume it'd be us, the clients, complaining about how our slight trim turned into a full on bob cut, or lamenting the fact it's not the shade of blonde we were hoping for, it turns out there's entire forums online aimed at our annoying behaviour.

Hairdressers have been taking to Reddit to share their personal grievances with clients, and we have to admit we're a bit shaken by it all.

A user asked: "Hairdressers of Reddit, what are some helpful and unhelpful things that clients do when they come in for a haircut?"

The thread is now full to bursting with comments, most leaning on the unhelpful side of things.

One person responded: "Damn don't come in when you have a product in your hair that isn't supposed to be in your hair.

"I had a client once who came in wanting a 0 fade and he said I don't want anything done to the top (when he said I had a sigh of relief).

"Why? He seem to have styled his hair with some kind of glue.

"There was no way the stuff he had in his hair was for hair. even so I finished the fade, didn't do anything on top, I asked him all is good, he said yes all is good, but can you take some off the top just a bit?

The hairdresser continued: "I said no there is no way that's possible with what's in your hair.

"He insisted that I tried, so I wet down his hair knowing it wasn't going to work (but to prove a point.)

"I did this a fair amount, and said I can't even attempt to try and ended up telling him if I was to try it would be a lot more expensive to cover the cost of new scissors."

No product in hair, noted.

Another grievance is when we move our heads in the shampoo bowl.

One person said: "Lifting your head in the shampoo bowl! Don't do that.. That's how we end up soaking the back of your shirt!"

Another added: "Yessss! I never used to say much when people did that but after years of it, I now just say 'lay down unless you want to get your back drenched.'"

Another added: "Omg! Yes! I know they think they're helping but they aren't."
