I wore the same £30 jumper for five days in a row - here’s the verdict

Maybe the change of weather isn't so bad after all

As the leaves begin to fall and the cold weather sets in, it's hard to resist the appeal of cosy knitwear.

But if, like me, you have a minor wardrobe meltdown when the temperature suddenly drops you'll want to pull out the best knitwear to do the job.

Enter the £30 Uniqlo jumper that you're going to see all over your feeds this season.

The lowdown

No brand does wardrobe essentials better than Uniqlo. Designed to slot effortlessly into your everyday routine, the brand's latest Soufflé Yarn collection is super easy to style - no matter where you’re heading - and it set to be your new wardrobe bestie.

Made from a soft and cosy fabric, the collection is designed to make winter something to look forward to, and best of all, no item is over £35.

Key pieces include the Crew Neck Jumper (£29.90) High Neck Jumper, (£29.90), V Neck Short Cardigan (£29.90), and the Knit Blouson (£34.90).

How to style the jumper of the season

Burgundy is everywhere this autumn, so I wasted no time in snapping up the crew neck style in the 'wine' colourway.

To see just how versatile the jumper really is, I took it for a test run, styling it with items already hung up in my wardrobe for five days straight.

From the pub to the office, here's how I wore the knit that's set to take over your feeds this season.

1.Coffee runs

When the rain poured over the weekend, the jumper held its own. Case in point: it’s light enough to layer beneath a trench when it's humid outside, perfect for transitional weather.

While it didn't feel too bulky underneath my coat, it still kept me warm when the sun went in.

2.Morning yoga class

There’s nothing like a new item of clothing to make getting up bright and early for an exercise class that little easier.

It’s been warm in London over the last few days so I chucked the knit over my activewear and trench for a boost of colour (it’s the little things in life!)

3.Weekend errands

When running errands around town, I like to be comfy but still feel put-together. For the outing, I paired the Uniqlo jumper with a white tee, pinstripe trousers, and trainers.

4.Office days

Few things make me happier than a great shirt-jumper combination and this is *chef’s kiss*. The jumper is slouchy enough to drape over a shirt and the colour complements navy stripes well.

When the sun disappeared behind a cloud, I simply pulled it over the shirt and went for a more preppy look.

5.To the pub

Surprisingly warm autumn days call for a lightweight jumper that goes with the last of your summer wardrobe and this certainly passed the test. No further notes.

The verdict

In short, I'm impressed. For £29.90, the jumper looks, and feels, far more expensive than it is - friends assumed it was designer and were surprised to learn it's from Uniqlo.

Since taking the knit on a test run, I've seen it out in the wild a few times, so you need to hurry if you're interested. Trust me, it'll be the best investment you make this season.

The Soufflé Yarn Crew Neck Jumper is available online and in-store now in sizes XXS to XXL. Visit the Uniqlo website to shop the rest of the collection.
