Cosy season his officially underway and this year fashion girlies are embracing all things autumn, from woolly knitwear to scented candles and of course, perennial fave pumpkin spiced lattes.

But if you want to go a step further, why not give a nod to the iconic treat in your beauty routine?

Pumpkin spiced latte hair has officially taken over our feeds, with colourists and clients going mad for warm, autumnal tones - think bronze with notes of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves and pumpkin.

So what should you ask for at the salon if you want to embrace this trend - and which hue is right for you?

Eve Avis, House of Sassoon, tells Tyla: “As autumn hits, the Pumpkin Spice Latte Hair aesthetic is all over social media. From rich chestnut reds to luxurious coppers, there is a shade for all skin tones.

“Beautiful blondes can be enhanced with rose gold tones while darker bases can experiment with auburn or mahogany shades, keeping the roots deeper and the ends brighter. A consultation is key to finding the right multi tonal look and technique to suit your needs.”

To make your new colour really pop (and last longer) you might want to consider a primer-type treatment, such as the new FBR by INNOluxe; your colourist simply sprays it in before applying dye and toner, and it helps to combat colour fade between appointments.

Once you’ve completed your treatment, it’s time to turn your thoughts to aftercare.

“Colour maintenance is an important consideration and the right products will dramatically reduce colour fade,” says Eve.

To lock colour in, she recommends Sassoon Illuminating Shampoo and Conditioner - adding that the brand’s Illuminating Restore Treatment will add a moisture boost and maintain shine if used once a week.
