When it comes to hair straighteners one of the brands that immediately comes to mind is CLOUD NINE. But if, like us, you have been trying to use less heat or do less damage to your hair, you might have avoided using straighteners. So, we were very intrigued when the brand announced that they would be releasing a ‘revolutionary’ new straightener range, which could be less damaging.
And we’ve got the lowdown on everything you need to know about it.

What does the new range include?
The new and improved CLOUD NINE hair straightener range includes three products in two different colourways – a classic black and a midnight navy blue.
There’s the New Original Iron, priced at £219, which is great for all hair types, allowing you to straighten and curl hair, depending on your preference.

For those with shorter hair, such as pixie cuts and bobs, or those who only use their straightener on their fringe, the New Slim Iron, priced at £159, will most likely be your best option. And thanks to its slimmer plates, it’s also ideal for those with or looking to create tight curls.
Last but not least, there’s the New Wide Iron for £229 which makes quick work of particularly long or thick hair thanks to its wider plates.
And what are the new benefits?
While the straighteners themselves might not look too dissimilar to ones that you’ve seen before, it's the upgrades to the technology that make them so impressive.

First of all, the brand has introduced a Variable Temperature Control, which allows each individual to set their hair straightener to the best temperature for them and their hair type. If you’re not sure what this might be, they’ve even put together a Temperature Calculator on their website to help with that.
It now means that the temperature can range from 100°C for more fragile or finer strands, all the way up to 200ºC for thick and coarse hair that’s more stubborn to straighten.
Then there’s what the brand calls their ‘Frictionless Revive Mode.’ While it was previously available on select tools, this new and improved version of it basically vibrates the straightener’s plates 8,000 times per minute to help minimise drag, friction and how long your hair is exposed to the heat while it glides through the plates.
Plus, the new tools benefit from CLOUD NINE's ‘Hibernation Mode,’ which activates if they’ve been inactive or left running for too long. I mean, who else has had the fear that they've left their straighteners on only once they've left the house?

Plus, they also include a protective heat guard, which should prevent you from doing any damage to surfaces as the plates cool down.
What are customers saying?
Despite just launching, the trio of brand new straighteners have already impressed a number of shoppers.

One happy customer took to the brand’s website to declare: “So happy with these straighteners. They leave no frizz when styling my hair using the new revive mode and I love that you can change the heat settings.”
While another added: “The vibrating mode stops any hairs getting snagged in the plates. Genius!”
And a third praised its ‘salon worth results’. They went on to explain: “Enjoyed the smoothness and gliding effect that this new straightener gives! Would recommend it as a professional stylist.”
