Man asks for divorce less than 24 hours after getting married because bride refused sex on wedding night

The bride was married for less than 24 hours when her husband dropped the bombshell

A brand new husband left his bride - and probably every other considerate and respectful person reading this story - absolutely stunned when he asked for a divorce after she refused sex on their wedding night.

I might not be married, but even I know that not being in the mood every now and again shouldn't be a deal breaker when it comes to true love.

The now-separated woman, Rachel, opened up about her shockingly short relationship when she called in to Abbie Chatfield’s Hit Network radio show, Hot Nights.

Rachel, from Sydney, explained she hadn't even been married for 24 hours before her husband decided he didn't want to be with her any more, and it all started after a night out celebrating their new union.

On the show, Rachel explained: "The night of the wedding we went out, and when we got back to the hotel room unfortunately I didn't give him what wanted..."

When the hosts clarified she was talking about sex, Rachel explained she and her new husband had slept together previously, but she simply didn't want to do it on their wedding night because she was 'tired' and not in the mood.

The following day, the husband announced he wanted a divorce. Within two weeks of their wedding, the newly married couple were officially separated.

Describing the husband as 'revolting', Abbie pointed out that 'a lot of people don't have sex on wedding nights' after being worn out from the day's events, so Rachel definitely wasn't alone in her feelings.

Rachel claimed the man had explicitly stated that he wanted a divorce over the lack of wedding night sex, and as a result she was left 'miserable'.

Thankfully, Rachel received support from the radio hosts who were left absolutely baffled by the events, as well as from TikTok users who heard her story after it was shared online.

One viewer assured Rachel she had 'absolutely dodged a bullet' with the swift separation from her husband, while another commented: "this is absolutely insane. what a peice of s**t guy. like what the actual f**k."

Other TikTok users shared their own wedding night experiences to prove that having sex definitely isn't always the end result, with one fondly throwing her emotional husband under the bus as she wrote: "My husband cried about how much he loved me then fell asleep while I removed 83 bobbypins from my hair."

Another added: "My husband was too tired after unbuttoning the 300000000 buttons on the back of my dress to get me out of it. so romantic really."

Hopefully Rachel will find someone more compatible in the future!
