A bride and groom have been applauded for the unique way in which they decided on their surname.

The newlyweds had an unusual name selector up their sleeve for their wedding day, with TikTok user @diaryofasolotraveler capturing the moment on video. Check it out here:

Onlookers have taken to the comments section to praise the couple for their interesting way of settling their name debate once and for all.

“My parents did this! We all have my mom's name now,” one user explained.

Someone else penned: “Omg, I like this.”

Meanwhile, others shared their similarly unconventional methods of name-choosing prior to their own weddings.

“I know a couple whose families had a paintball match to decide! The winning side determined the last name,” one person admitted.

Another wrote: “One of my professors had a kickball game between her and his family the day of the rehearsal to determine last name. Her family won.”

“My parents kept their last names, but my last name was chosen by rock paper scissors,” someone else wrote.

Elsewhere, a man has revealed that his wife was so ashamed of her three-carat engagement ring, that she wears a rubber band instead.

The TikTok user @tiktokarash shared the short clip of his fiancée using her phone and captioned the video: "My Persian wife is ashamed of her 'small' 3-carat diamond ring so she wears this rubber thing instead."

The video has since gone viral, racking up 15.8 million views, and TikTok users have been sharing their theories as to why the woman has opted for a rubber band instead of a huge ring. You can read more on that here.
