Rachel Bilson has opened up little more about her sex life to her fans - focussing in on one very particular part of it.

Speaking on a recent episode of the Broad Ideas podcast yesterday (13 March), The O.C. star revealed the age she achieved her very belated milestone in the world of sex.

Bilson, 41, dubbed the confession 'crazy' and the news has sent the internet into a complete frenzy.

Talk about dropping a bombshell!

Speaking on Monday's episode of the podcast, Bilson and stand-up comedian Whitney Cummings sat down to chat about an extensive list of different topics.

From both of their parents being in nursing homes to Cummings making the decision to freeze her eggs and issues of addition to trusting intuition when it comes to men - the pair seemingly covered a whole sweep of subjects.

As the conversation went on, Bilson got very candid about her intimate experiences after the two began discussing their respective sexual journeys.

It all took a turn when Cummings kicked off the conversation admitting to the actor that she only had her first orgasm from sex after getting off birth control within the last year.

Clearly having no problem achieving climax solo, the host added: "I could do it with my hands whenever."

Finding Cummings' confession relatable, the Gossip Girl star revealed that she too only had an orgasm from penetrative sex much later on in life.

Bilson replied: "Of course, yeah. But not from, like, d**k inside."

She went on to tell Cummings that she didn't experience an orgasm through sex until she was in her late thirties - so only a few years ago.

She revealed: "I was the same as you, it didn't happen for me until I was about 38. Isn't that crazy?"

Eagled-eyed fans noticed that Bilson used to be in a relationship with both Adam Brody until 2006 and Hayden Christensen until 2017.

This led many fans to workout the maths considering she was younger than her self-confessed age of first orgasm with both partners.

After the internet did its thing, fans also noticed that Bilson first started dating another fellow actor, Bill Hader, around the time she had turned 38.

However, while Bilson announced her split from Hader back in 2020, she has now said she's 'ready for the next thing'.

As expected, the news sent social media into a spiral with many flocking to Twitter to share their views on Bilson's sex confession.

Dr. Ruth Westheimer, a self-titled 'world-renowned psychosexual therapist', posted: "What's crazy is that so many women still don't know that having an orgasm from intercourse alone is just not the norm.

"Most women require added stimulation before or after intercourse," the expert added.

Retired Dominatrix, Jenny Nordbak, chimed in with: "Rachel Bilson saying she didn’t come from sex doesn’t mean Hayden Christensen is bad in bed.

"Why do people keep saying that? Most women (who are being honest) don’t orgasm purely from penetrative penis sex. My husband is a sex god and I basically never come from just p in v sex."

"Rachel Bilson admitting she never had an orgasm with a man until she was 38… is relatable," a final Twitter user commented.
