A 'masculine woman' and a 'feminine man' have been opening up about their relationship and their sex life.

Maren Butler, 21, identifies as a masculine woman, while James Carrington, 23, identifies as a feminine man.

Neither had ever been in a heterosexual relationship before meeting each other, but they've now been together for a year-and-a-half.

The couple have admitted their relationship is 'unusual', so they decided to do a Q&A on YouTube, to allow their followers to get a better understanding of their partnership.

Naturally, a lot of people just wanted to get straight down to the juicy stuff.

"There's like seven people who asked, 'Who's the top and who's the bottom?'" Maren said.

People didn't hold back with their questions.

"Are we answering that?" James replied, in a tone that implied that he thought they'd be keeping that business to themselves.

After a cut away in the vid - potentially implying they had a brief chinwag about how best to proceed - James then continued by answering an amended version of the question.

"Energetically, our energies, she's the top," James said.

"But yeah, energy-wise, she's the top."

He continued: "I never in my life been nobody's bottom honey. And I'm just gonna say that."

Another follower asked if the couple 'use a strap', and they opted to dodge the question again, with James discussing the various objects he uses straps for, such as fishing rods and boats.

"To answer your question, no, she doesn't use a strap on me, but we use it on a car, a boat... on a train, on a plane," he joked.

The couple first got talking after Maren reached out to James on TikTok in February 2021.

She said she found his confidence 'mesmerising', so had to get in touch.

After talking for a bit, the pair exchanged numbers and began texting and calling every day.

Only a month into talking, the pair met after Maren took the 800-mile journey to meet James.

"We'd talked about meeting up and I had a couple of days off school so I decided that it was the perfect time to meet," Maren said.

"It took me over 10 hours but it was so worth it.

"When I arrived it was fairly late at night but it was amazing to see each other in person for the first time.

"James was just how he was over the phone; funny, intelligent and confident."

Fast-forward to the present day and the couple are still going strong and enjoying ''breaking all the gender and relationship stereotypes' with their relationship.
