People on the internet can’t stop gushing over a man’s Reddit post about his partner washing his hair.

Sometimes it’s the little things in relationships that really blow a person’s mind.

Case in point, this man, who took to Reddit to share that he was ‘on cloud nine’ after his partner simply washed his hair.

“It felt so good,” he wrote. “We don’t normally shower together, but today we did. Nothing sexual happened or anything.”

The Reddit user explained that his partner told him to ‘wait’ when he reached for the shampoo as they showered together and ‘grabbed it herself and started running it through my hair.’

He said he felt like he was ‘floating’. But his partner didn’t stop there and used the soap ‘and started sudsing me up’, using her body to ‘spread it all over me’.

He wrote: “I almost got overwhelmed and started crying from being so happy while she was doing it.

“I’ve never had a girlfriend be so gentle and make me feel like this. I’ve always been with people who [are] very cold and I’m not used to this feeling.

“And I’ve got no one I can express things like this to. Which, when I think about it, is really pretty screwed up.

Reacting to the post, which had also made its way onto Instagram with the caption 'wholesome', one reader joked: “My wife lets me take naps, almost the same feeling.”

A second observed: “If this girl breaks his heart, my man will never be able to wash his hair again.”

A third added: “Shampooing your lover’s hair is the most intimate thing two people can do.”

A fourth wrote alongside a heart emoji: “Tenderness… so underrated in a relationship.”

While the man was grateful, a fifth social media user said that it sounded like the woman had lucked out too.

They wrote: “She's lucky, too. Not every man appreciates and acknowledges.”

But not everyone was so complimentary of the post.

One social media user wrote: “Dude, you were doing great until you started crying! You don’t cry! You take your woman in the shower!”

A second agreed, writing: “What on the Wattpad stories is this.”

Meanwhile, there was this social media user who simply joked: “Then he woke up and realised it was his dog licking his head and face.”

What’s the most intimate ‘little thing’ that someone’s done for you?
