A woman has shared the reasons why she's fine with being single for the foreseeable future. Watch the video below:

Joules Lo’Well, 39, explained why she only wants to be with a 'fully functioning adult male' rather than someone who is looking for a 'secretary' who cooks and cleans for them.

The TikToker outlined the reasons why she is not looking to be in a relationship with a person who expects her to do all the chores.

Joules starts her manifesto with: "This is probably reason number 500,000 of why I'm gonna be single for the rest of my life and I'm fine with that."

Joules emphasised the importance of sharing chores in a relationship and not expecting the woman to do everything. “I don’t wanna cook for you,” she declared. “I don’t wanna clean for you. I don’t wanna be your secretary and set your appointments and chase you around.

“I don’t wanna pick up your socks for you”.

She reiterated: “I want to be with somebody who is an adult. A fully functioning adult.”

Speaking about men who expect all the benefits in the relationship, she went on: “And then as a treat they might do something for our birthday or for Mother’s Day.”

The unfair division of day-to-day housework also came under fire. “When I come home after a long day I don’t wanna cook either. I don’t wanna do sh*t either.

“Why can’t we flip a coin to see who cooks or if we order food and then whoever cooks the other person cleans. Why can’t you pick up after yourself. Why can’t you set your own appointments? Why do I have to be your secretary.”

Joules shared some of the criticism her opinions on the unfairness in relationships has received. “And then there are men who will say ‘Well, what are you good for? What’s the reason why someone should be with you?’ You’re proving my point. You just want to be with somebody to do everything for you.”

She finished her video with one last point about being happy and single. “I don’t even want a cat,” she said. “I don’t even want a pet. I have a plant. Like, I will be happy. I will not take care of a grown person.”

The video has been viewed more than 2.2 million times and countless women in the comments shared Joules' attitudes towards living a happy, single life.

One TikTok user wrote: "Marriage is no longer a flex, happiness is. Build your life around you!"

Another woman shared: "And then they’re like “noo he takes care of me” like no he doesn’t… he just lives in your house".

A third person declared: "Yes yes preach that’s why [I] am buying myself a love ring for myself".

While a fourth reflected on the reactions they get from other woman when they reveal they're happy being single. "A lot of women think I’m in denial for wanting to be single, they won’t except the fact that I don’t want to be in a relationship, but it’s true I’m."

Joules spoke to Buzzfeed about the reaction to her video: "We’re told that marriage is the pinnacle of success for a woman. That’s what you’re supposed to strive for in life. That if you don’t have a man, you’re lonely. But that’s not true."
