Woman immediately fell pregnant after welcoming baby boy despite being on birth control

TikToker Allanah Harris documents her family life on social media, and is a doting mum to two young babies and a stepson

If ‘IUD, don’t fail me now!’ is something you whisper under your breath when you meet someone new, this story might make your palms sweat.

TikToker Allanah Harris documents her family life on social media, and is a doting mum to two young babies and a stepson.

But, as she recently revealed, finding out she was pregnant with her youngest child came as quite the surprise, seeing as she was using birth control and had just given birth to her son Chase.

On her social media page, which has racked up almost 350,000 followers, 30-year-old Allanah explains that she fell pregnant with Ellie ‘right away’ after welcoming Chase, despite her doctor suggesting she have an IUD implanted.

“‘The IUD is the best form of contraception,’” Allanah said her physician stated.

“‘Plus, you’re breastfeeding, so you’re less likely to fall pregnant,’” she added in a cheeky clip, before the camera panned to her holding Ellie.

“Well, s**t,” the doting mum hilariously added.

Allanah candidly shares the ups and downs of motherhood with her hundreds of thousands of followers.

In another video, she admitted: “Three back-to-back pregnancies has me done!”

She is also stepmum to her partner Brock’s five-year-old son from a different relationship and tragically lost her firstborn, a little girl named Lilly, nine months before Chase’s birth.

Allanah’s supportive followers often praise her dedication to motherhood and have expressed their surprise over how well she manages to juggle three young kids. We think juggling children is dangerous, but each to their own.

One follower wrote beneath Allanah’s video: “You’re an amazing mummy! Such an inspiration!”

Another added: “Wow, I don't know how you do it. About to have baby 2 in 2 weeks and I am freaking out even though my first is 10 lmao!”

A third wrote: “You handle everything with positivity!” while a fourth said: “You got this, mama!”

Allanah might have her plate full, but she clearly wouldn’t change her situation for the world, saying: “Whenever I go out I am always told that I’ve got my hands full. Yes, my hands may be full, but my heart is even fuller.”

By the way, for those of you at the back panicking, according to the NHS’s website, IUDs are normally more than 99% effective.

The health service notes: “Intrauterine device (IUD): more than 99% effective. An IUD can stay in place for 5 or 10 years depending on the type but can be taken out at any time. Fewer than 1 in 100 women will get pregnant in a year, depending on the type of IUD.”
