TikTokers are issuing a warning to anyone who's been enjoying the recent viral cucumber trend, after it went horribly wrong.

ICYMI, the humble cucumber has bizarrely become the staple ingredient of this summer, after some people admitted to chomping through whole cucumbers every single day.

It seems a bit odd - after all, cucumbers have never been the most popular salad item.

But it's certainly having a moment, after the fruit (yep, it's technically a fruit) went viral thanks to Canadian TikToker Logan Moffitt, who’s been dubbed the ‘cucumber guy’.

Logan forged a name for himself by coming up with tasty, creative ways to eat a whole cucumber, telling his followers at the beginning of videos: “Sometimes you need to eat an entire cucumber."

Generally, the trend involves slicing the cucumber into thin pieces and creating a tasty salad.

“Finally tried the cucumber salad trend & man that yt boy did his big one!” one person wrote on X, adding: “I’m gagged!”

Someone else said: “Just tried the viral cucumber salad recipe from TikTok and it's f**king delicious, making it again.”

But since the trend started, some TikTokers have issued a warning after suffering some pretty horrifying accidents.

In one video, captioned, 'how I ended up in the ER' one TikToker, @jayyandabby, could be seen slicing a cucumber using a mandoline.

But as their fingers approached the blade, they could be heard screaming in pain as a finger appeared to collide with the kitchen gadget.

Meanwhile, in a separate video, one TikToker, @paigetaylor.s - who said she was in her 'nurse era' - could be seen helping bandage up her boyfriend's finger after a similar cucumber-related slicing incident.

One person commented on the clip: "I SAW THE FINGER THE TIP IS LIKE MISSING."

While another said: "I saw it and it looks so much worse than I thought hope your ok."

And a third added: "So did ya'll find the tip in the cucumbers or did ya'll just throw them away?"

While cucumbers are packed with nutrients, one expert has warned against consuming too many.

Daily Harvest nutrition adviser Carolina Schneider, MS, RD, told Delish: "They also contain antioxidants, which can help fight oxidative stress in the body.

"Diets rich in vegetables are associated with better health markers, lower disease risk and overall improved health and well-being."

Schneider said that, while cucumbers are perfectly safe for regular consumption, excessive amounts of anything can lead to negative side effects, according to Schneider.

"In the case of cucumbers, their high water and fiber content might cause digestive discomfort if consumed in large quantities," she said.

"That’s because fiber stimulates bowel movement, and for some individuals, especially those not accustomed to a high-fiber diet, this can lead to bloating, gas, or even diarrhea."
