A US Open spectator has been praised for his 'kind' actions during the men's singles final on Sunday.

The nail-biting 7 September match, which had heightened security measures due to Donald Trump's attendance, saw Carlos Alcaraz beat Jannik Sinner at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in Flushing Meadows, New York.

However, while all of the televised sporting action was going on, another moment in the crowd caught the attention of the masses - for once, for all of the right reasons.

And social media users are in agreement that it's nice to see a wholesome moment among the slew of negative clips that have been circulating from sports games as of recently.

On Saturday (7 September) footage of a heated interaction at a baseball game between the Philadelphia Phillies taking on the Miami Marlins went viral.

For those who are yet to see the clip, it took place immediately after center fielder Harrison Bader hit a home run, sending the ball flying into the crowd.

It was heading towards an empty row, so Phillies fan Drew Feltwell darted over to catch it, before bringing it back to his nine-year-old son, whose 10th birthday was reportedly coming up.

However, just moments after placing the ball into his son's glove, a woman marched over and demanded that the ball was hers.

After a few moments, Feltwell gave up and handed her the ball, before she accepted it and marched back to her seat.

The woman was brutally booed out of the stands and the moment has understandably sparked a whole wave of backlash online since.

Meanwhile, another recent viral moment saw a millionaire CEO named and shamed online after he was filmed snatching a hat that a tennis player had signed for a young fan during the US Open.

Not to mention the unbelievable clip of a Jannik Sinner fan trying to pry his way into the tennis star's backpack and take his belongings while he signed balls at the side of the court.

However, the newest video to come from the US Open's stands is thankfully on the other end of the scale, with some fans even joking the man involved made sure to think about what he was doing to avoid the wrath of the internet.

The clip in question sees the tennis ball head into the crowd during the game between Alcaraz and Sinner, falling at the feet of a man.

But instead of taking it for himself, he picked it up and immediately passed it on to the little boy in front of him - a move that's earned praise online.

The video was shared by Twitter account TheTennisLetter, who joked in the caption: "He saw the controversies +2000 IQ play right here."

Others quickly responded to agree and praise the man, writing: "That's what a normal human being would do" and "That was +2M IQ play right here".

A third added: "Real American right there," while a fourth penned: "The correct play. Controversies or not."

"What a great man. And it went right to him!," quipped another social media users, while someone else wrote: "Lessons were learned".

"Nobody dares to keep a ball anymore lol," joked another sports fan, while someone else wrote: "Power move. This is the epitome of learning from someone else’s mistakes."

And others chimed in with: "Some people are actually just kind" and "That's how it's done, damn it... well done!!!"
