Every dog owner knows that look - those big, puppy-dog eyes as your pooch refuses to budge from the suitcase while you pack for your upcoming trip. We don’t care what anyone says, there’s no guilt quite like it, and we’re certain they always remember.

So, what if we told you that you can bring your furry friend on your next getaway? Yes, seriously.

In news sure to delight dog fanatics, Portland hotel Sentinel is offering a Very Important Pets’ service, where your best mate can stay for just a $65 (£60) per-stay pet upgrade. All you have to do to secure the deal is inform the hotel about your dog’s very special arrival and they'll roll out the fluffy red carpet.

The package is just one of many weird and wonderful hotel perks listed on Hotels.com's Hotel Room Innsights Report.

Sentinel

Sure to get you into the good books, your pooch will be greeted with the love and attention they deserve. Upon arrival, dogs will sniff out a welcome kit filled with treats and toys in their room (so that you can have a little peace and quiet too).

The hotel will also include a recommendations list in the welcome basket to cater to your dog’s every demand: from local groomers and pet stores to nearby acupuncturists - yes, you read that correctly.

The hotel will even throw in a cosy pet bed, food dishes, and water bowls so your precious pup can get in on the room service action too.

Sentinel

Sentinel is situated in downtown Portland just a short dog’s walk away from the city’s buzzy restaurants, clubs, wine bars, and art galleries. Famed for its historic building, the rooms are the epitome of luxury - think plush pillows, king beds, and sweeping views of the impressive skyline.

If you’d like to show your pup around the big city, hire one of the hotel’s bikes. If you'd rather make the most of the hotel, get tucked up in bed and stick on a film - One Hundred and One Dalmatians is always a crowd-pleaser.

Guests are encouraged to share photographs from their stay on Instagram using the hashtag #hellosentinel so that your worldly pooch can make their pals jealous.

To book, choose the Paws & Indulge Package when selecting your hotel room. Just make sure to hurry, as the offer ends on 31 December 2024. It'll make for a thoughtful early Christmas present if we do say so ourselves - especially if they've had a bit of a ruff year (sorry).
