Grim warning issued to anyone who wears shorts on a plane

Turns out there's a lot to think about when it comes to choosing what to wear on the plane

Holiday season is officially in full swing and it's got so many of us pondering the same thing: What on earth should we wear to the airport?!

Of course, making sure you have the essentials like your passport, suncream, socket adaptors and a million outfit choices is essential before jetting off on your hols this summer.

But many would argue it's just as important to put the same amount of effort into your airport outfit too.

The tricky thing is, you want to be comfy for the flight, but you also want to look good... all as well as being practical and prepared for when you land in a potentially very different climate which, for those leaving the UK, is very likely.

So as many can relate, deciding what to wear to travel in is tough, which is why a flight attendant has come to the rescue with his top tips on all things flying... which includes a pretty grim warning to those who opt to wear shorts.

Tommy Ciato, who goes by @tommycimato on TikTok, uses his platform to spill all kinds of cabin crew secrets, including why you should never be the one to stand up as soon as the plane lands.

But a bit of advice he dished out back in 2021 is still making waves online, and that's regarding passengers who wear shorts while travelling.

In his video, he went over the five things you should 'never do on a plane', one of which included sleeping with your head against the window.

"Do not fall asleep or lean your head on the window," Tommy explained. "You are not the only that has done that and you don't know how many people or children have wiped their hands or other things all over the window."

He then added: "Don't or try not to wear shorts when you're on an airplane. It's the same thing as the window, you never know how clean it's gonna be, so if you have pants, you're gonna have less germs."

Yep, nasty stuff.

The other plane no-gos from Tommy included not drinking enough water while onboard, not informing flight attendants when you're feeling unwell, and touching the toilet flush button with your bare hands as, like the windows and seats, it's packed to the brim with germs.

So, with shorts being out of the picture when it comes to flying, what about leggings?

Surely they're fine - they cover your legs and are super comfy... right?

Nope! According to a travel expert, leggings could prove to either kill you or leave lasting damage in the event of an emergency.

Christine Negroni told The Sun: "You might have to escape through a cabin fire or there could be a separate fire on the ground once you leave the aircraft.

"Everyone is wearing yoga pants on planes now, but I avoid all artificial fibres because they are more likely to burn and stick to you if there is a fire.

"I’d advise wearing cotton clothes or anything made of natural fibres."
