First class passenger slammed after 'rude' reaction to medical emergency during flight

Reddit users called the passengers 'entitled'

There must be something in the air on planes.

From trying to take other passengers' seats to invading their personal space, being up in the air really brings out the worst in people.

Now, a first class passenger has been slammed on Reddit due to their 'rude' reaction to a medical emergency during a flight.

One member of the site's Delta community recently shared their experience on a flight from Las Vegas to Atlanta.

The user explained that the passengers sitting in seats 3C and 3D were last minute upgrades to first class.

They said that the pair were late to board the flight and had been 'rude' to the flight attendant since they boarded the plane.

But, it was their reaction to a medical emergency that left the original poster in shock.

They said: "During dinner service a medical emergency happened where the flight attendant excused herself to assist with the emergency."

Now, you would think that in such high-stake circumstances, people would want to do everything they can to help, or at least leave those qualified to care for the unwell passenger undisturbed.

But no.

"[The] passengers instead started getting rude that they were not getting served their drinks.

"Maybe it’s just me but you’re not entitled to be rude to people doing their jobs, especially during an emergency," they continued.

"I will be pissed if we end up getting diverted cause someone wanted a freaking margarita during an emergency."

The vast majority of Reddit users were shocked by the story, taking to the thread to slam the rude passengers.

One person wrote: "I'm always flabbergasted when people don't have empathy for the medical emergencies of others. Why can't they think 'what if that was me?'"

Another added: "Too bad they don't ban people from future upgrades for this sort of thing!"

And third user even shared some advice for their fellow travellers.

"As someone who has flown a fair amount...make sure that once you get through TSA, to buy a bottled drink and substantial snack," they said.

"Things happen when you are up in the air, that cannot be helped. Bad and continuous turbulence can delay the FA's passing drinks/snacks. And, of course, a medical emergency."

Unfortunately, according to a number of flight attendants in the comment section, this kind of thing happens all the time.

One wrote: "I have had several medicals and then people complained about not getting their ginger ale and biscotti. A lot of people just do not have empathy."
