Stephen Bear ordered to pay Georgia Harrison over £200,000 for sharing sex tape online without consent

Stephen Bear ordered to pay Georgia Harrison over £200,000 for sharing sex tape online without consent

A court has ordered him to pay damages

Stephen Bear has been ordered to pay more than £200,000 in damages to Georgia Harrison after secretly recording a sex tape and sharing it online without her consent.

Bear is currently in prison after being convicted of the crime and a ruling has said he must pay £207,900 in damages to Harrison.

The judge described it as 'a gross act of violation by a man towards a woman through the medium of the internet' and termed it 'image-based abuse'.

In March Bear received a 21-month prison sentence on charges of 'revenge porn' against his ex-girlfriend Harrison, having shared a private video with intimate content on his OnlyFans page.

The pair had been filmed having consensual sex on CCTV cameras set up in his garden in 2020, but Harrison didn't know they were being recorded.

During the trial, prosecutors said that when she learned about the footage she told Bear 'never to send' it to anybody and that she would be incredibly upset if he did.

She was later made aware that the footage had been shared online and while Bear claimed he had deleted it he was convicted on a count of voyeurism and two counts of disclosing private sexual photographs and films with intent to cause distress.
