On Sunday (27 July), the world watched on as England's Lionesses brought it home following a 1-1 score against Spain, eventually winning on penalties.
During the post-match celebrations, Prince William, who is patron of the Football Association, congratulated the team and shook the players' hands.
Up on the podium next to William was a young girl who was also shaking hands with the players, looking clearly over the moon to be present during such a monumental occasion as she could barely contain her excitement while interacting with the world champion Lionesses.
The girl in question has since been identified as 12-year-old Greta, from Switzerland, who lives with a genetic form of epilepsy that was diagnosed at the age of six months.

UEFA enabled Greta, a sports enthusiast who loves football, basketball, horse riding and swimming to attend the ceremony in Basel’s St. Jakob-Park.

"Greta is a cheerful, open-minded, and determined young girl with a great passion for sport," UEFA said in a statement.
"Her enthusiasm, perseverance, and love of sport made her a fitting and inspiring choice to participate in the medal ceremony alongside UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin."

Greta's T-shirt represented the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Foundation for Children which 'defends the rights of underprivileged children by using the power of football to improve their lives and to help them develop their potential and find their place in the community'.

A new video of Greta has since been released by UEFA sharing with fans a little more about her attendance during last night's match.
The video in question featured a heartwarming montage of 'magical moments' including Greta walking out alongside UEFA president Aleksander Čeferin during the trophy ceremony, meeting the referees, royalty, and the players from both teams.

One particularly sweet clip showed England's Chloe Kelly giving Greta a big hug.

UEFA captioned the short clip: "Turning dreams into reality at #WEURO2025!
"We welcomed our special guest Greta to join UEFA president Aleksander Čeferin at the #WEURO2025 final trophy ceremony.
