With the annual Trooping the Colour event happening in the UK this weekend, we can't help but be reminded of a sweet moment between Princess Charlotte and little brother Prince Louis that unfolded during last year's festivities.

For those who don't know, the annual celebration takes place in June to mark the birthday of Britain's ruling monarch, King Charles III.

Despite the King actually having been born in November, his official birth is commemorated each year on 15 June with a parade throughout the city of London, during which Charles and his family venture out onto Buckingham Palace's balcony.

As millions of viewers watch the televised ceremony unfold from the comfort of their living room, the royal family has a front row view of the military procession, musical performance and the annual Royal Air Force flypast.

While the attention is supposed to remain on Charles this weekend, the likelihood is that Prince Louis will once again steal the show - something the cheeky chap has been renowned for since his 2018 birth.

After all, who could possibly forget the youngster shoving his hands over his ears to block out the noise at the late Queen's jubilee in 2022?

Last year, however, he and big sister Princess Charlotte, 10, set viewers' tongues wagging after he appeared to receive a bit of a telling off.

Alongside parents Prince William and Kate Middleton, and brother Prince George, 11, the siblings stood together on the platform to observe the red, white and blue smoke erupting from the jets as they passed.

According to lip reader Gaby Lane, Louis, seven, at one point turned to his dad and said: "Papa, Papa, Papa, look at all that colour!"

Later, Charlotte reportedly shot him a look, telling her little brother to 'put your hands down' after he proceeded to wave during the National Anthem.

Lane told press that the princess was less than impressed when Louis was seen dancing along during the march of the Scots Guards to Highland Laddie.

Chiming in, lip reader Nicola Hickling believes Charlotte told her younger sibling: "You have to stop doing that. Watch the parade."

Louis is said to have merrily responded: "I won't."

"Do as you're told," the princess then allegedly bit back.

Again, Louis is said to have responded: "Nope."

Apparently, Kate had a little more patience for her youngest during last year's celebration.

Travelling with her kids earlier that day down the Mall in a horse-drawn carriage, Kate responded to Louis' astonishment at the turn out.

He is said to have told her: "Look over there ma."

"Right, look at that," the mother-of-three responded, according to Lane.
