King Charles III is reportedly attempting to demonstrate his softer side this week, following recent accusations that he somewhat lost his rag over the weekend.
Alongside wife Queen Camilla, the monarch appeared at London's Westminster Abbey on Thursday (8 May) to celebrate the 80th anniversary of VE Day - when Germany finally surrendered during WWII - with a solemn service.
The royal couple were also joined in the royal box by the likes of the Prince and Princess of Wales (Prince William and Kate Middleton), and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh (Prince Edward and wife Sophie).

Whilst watching the proceedings, however, one body language expert claimed to have picked up on some tensions, believing Charles at one point lost his temper.

Lip reader Jeremy Freeman told the Scottish Daily Express that the King had appeared frustrated by a lack of 'introductions' given when meeting with a handful of war veterans in attendance.
Freeman believes 76-year-old Charles - whose short fuse is somewhat notorious in royal circles, according to the Mail - uttered at one point: "Unbelievable, where are my introductions?"

The father-of-two was also accused of having subsequently turned his head towards a royal officer at his side, before demanding: "Where, where are you?"
After another man appeared at his side, Charles finally mellowed out, and continued shaking hands with former soldiers.
After laying a wreath at the black marble Grave of the Unknown Warrior in honour of those who lost their lives during warfare, he told attendees: "We will never forget."

His son, William, then added: "For those who made the ultimate sacrifice during the Second World War. We will remember them."
As we say, however, this isn't the first time that Charles has been accused of losing his cool during public outings.
Who else remembers how furious he became when his pen stopped working during an attempt to sign a visitor's book at Hillsborough Castle in 2023? Or the year prior, when he moaned outside Westminster that he 'can never be on time' whilst waiting for the coach to his Coronation?
But apparently, despite Charles being prone to a temper tantrum, there's one person that can keep him calm - and that's his wife of two decades, Camilla.

Whilst appearing at another event yesterday (11 May), The King was reportedly heard referring to his other-half - to whom he's been married since 2005 - as 'darling'.

The couple joined Sweden's King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia in tree-planting activities, during which Charles could be seen guiding 77-year-old Camilla to a new tree, telling her: "On this side, darling, this side."
As well as 'darling', the pair - who were also romantically-linked during Charles' first marriage to the late Princess Diana - are known to loving refer to one another as 'Gladys' and 'Fred', after characters from the BBC radio show The Goon Show.

Discussing their use of nicknames, marketing expert Charlotte Butt previously told Hello! Magazine that it reflects the shared experiences they've enjoyed as a couple, as well as their deep personal connection and mutual humour.
The pro added that such nicknames 'reflect the unique relationships between individuals' - no matter how crabby Charles can get!
