Sarah Ferguson set to 'flee' the UK to the 'Hamptons of Europe', reports say

The former 'Duchess of York' recently lost her royal title over her affiliation with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein

After being stripped of her 'Duchess of York' title, and evicted from her royal residence, Sarah Ferguson is 'preparing to leave the UK', insiders say.

The 66-year-old has long been somewhat embroiled in her ex-husband Andrew's sexual abuse scandal - though, until a series of damning emails were released to the public earlier this year, onlookers were unaware of the extent.

Now, Sarah is said to have her heart set on a move to the 'Hamptons of Europe', where she'll reside with her youngest daughter.

For those in need of a reminder, the man formerly known as Prince Andrew had his remaining royal titles - including his princedom - stripped last month in light of alarming new revelations regarding his relationship with late sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein.

In 2022, Virginia Giuffre alleged that the royal, 65, had abused her on three separate occasions when she was just a minor, having first been trafficked by Epstein, who committed suicide in 2019. As a result, he lost his HRH title and military honours.

His ex-wife, Sarah's representatives defended the Prince at the time, describing him as a 'good man', and adding: "I think the spotlight needs to come off him and let him get on with his life to rebuild."

Despite Giuffre going on to take her own life earlier this year, three days ahead of the posthumous release of her memoir in which she cited specific sexual encounters with Prince Andrew, his brother, King Charles III, removed his 'Duke of York' title.

Weeks later, Buckingham Palace officials added that the father-of-two would 'now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor', with his 'Prince' title having been removed. On top of this, Andrew was evicted from Royal Lodge, where he and Sarah have resided together since 2004, despite being divorced.

It was simultaneously announced that Sarah would also be forced to surrender her 'Duchess of York' title, following the emergence of an email sent by her to Epstein in 2011. In it, she described the paedophile as both a 'supreme' and 'dear, dear friend'.

Though the mother-of-two's spokesperson claimed at the time that the email had been sent as a counter to a defamation threat by Epstein, and insisted Sarah 'spoke of her regret about her association with Epstein many years ago', an insider says she's had enough of the speculation.

According to The Mail, the former Duchess has been forced to make her own arrangements following she and Andrew's eviction. The King is believed to be privately funding his brother's move to Sandringham.

Sarah is said to be leaning on her daughter, Princess Eugenie, and son-in-law Jack Brooksbank at this difficult time, and will moving to their £3.6million mansion on an area of Portugal's Atlantic coast, often dubbed the 'Hamptons of Europe'.

Apparently, the couple have prepared the 'grand suite' of their oceanfront villa for the former Duchess, who'll 'be arriving sometime in January', a palace insider has said.

They added: "How long she’ll stay is anyone’s guess but if it’s a long-term move, I can guarantee she’ll fit well into the social scene. Scores of celebrities and stars have been snapping up properties in the area."

The scene in question - approximately a 90-minute drive south of the Portuguese capital, Lisbon - is said to be frequented by a horde of huge name stars, including Madonna, Scarlett Johansson, and Nicole Kidman, all of whom have property in the area.

Hollywood couple Alicia Vikander, Michael Fassbender also spend months of the year at CostaTerra Golf and Ocean Club with their two children.
