Kate Middleton fans have worked out the 'reason' why she’s missing from a brand-new royal photo.

On Tuesday (11 November), several members of the Royal Family joined King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla as they held a reception marking the 80th Anniversary of VJ Day at Windsor Castle, following the Remembrance Sunday Service at the Cenotaph and the Royal British Legion’s Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall.

An official photo snapped during the event, including the likes of Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh, Charlie Richards, Pat Owtram, Edwin Habberley, Prince William, the Prince of Wales, George Durrant, Sid Machin and Britain's Birgitte, the Duchess of Gloucester.

Additionally, Stan Gates, Ron Gumbley, Sylvia Manasseh, Charles, Camilla, Yavar Abbas, Bill Jones, Ron Quested and Henry Rice also posed for the snap.

Kate, however, was nowhere to be seen, prompting many to question her absence from the family pic.

One social media user questioned: "I wonder why Kate wasn’t invited?"

As a second theorised: "I'm thinking it's the king, the queen, and those who served?"

"Honestly, it’s Camilla that’s out of place," hit out a third, while another added: "I agree. Camilla is the only one who hasn't served in the UK armed forces."

British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, Conservative Party Leader Kemi Badenoch, Defence Secretary John Healey and actor Sir Mark Rylance also attended the event in Windsor.

While Kate may not have been present in the photo, she did make a special solo outing for Armistice Day.

She represented the royal family at a Service of Remembrance at the National Memorial Arboretum's Armed Forces Memorial on Tuesday.

Kate joined attendees in observing a two-minute silence at 11 am local time, before laying a wreath in commemoration of those who died in service and all those who have served in the Armed Forces.

Her husband, William, also appeared in a video message for the Royal British Legion’s Remembrance Assembly in which he said: "Through my own military experience, as well as through my work in connection with units across the Royal Navy, the Army and the Royal Air Force, I have seen firsthand the hard work, dedication and duty the Armed Forces carry out to ensure we are protected."

"Coming together for Remembrance is a vital way to honour those whose service keeps us safe," the heir to the throne continued.

"Even today, as we continue to face a number of conflicts across the world, we honour those who have gone before us, and those who are serving now.

"Their memories matter, their lives matter, and they remind us to be respectful, kind, brave, and thoughtful every day."
