Richest Royal family member revealed but the list might surprise you

Even the kids have more money than you or I will see in our lifetimes

We all know the Royals enjoy the finer things in life, but how much cold hard cash does each member have to their name?

Is Kate Middleton or Meghan Markle richer? How about Prince William or Prince Harry?

Then there’s the staggering amount the new generation of Royals make - with Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet all being worth more money than we will ever see in our lifetime despite being much too young to have a job, or indeed in some cases tie their shoelaces.

Here is every major member of the royal family, ranked in terms of wealth.

Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis - £400k

Prince William and Kate Middleton’s three children - Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, seven - are officially rolling in it.

As to how they’ve accumulated these vast riches? Well, as you might expect, the preteens’ wealth is exclusively made up of gifts, inheritances and trust funds.

Interestingly, Princess Charlotte is expected to earn more than her brothers as she grows up, according to some commentators.

This is due to something called the ‘Kate Middleton effect’. Basically, her mum is known to be so fashion forward that any outfit she wears instantly sells like hotcakes, and it’s expected Princess Charlotte may one day hold similar influence.

Queen Camilla - £3.9m

Despite being queen of England, Camilla’s net worth is actually on the lower end among her fellow Royals.

Her wealth comes from a £500k inheritance from one of her grandparents, plus a £850k country house that became hers after her divorce from first husband Andrew Parker-Bowles.

Prince Andrew - £3.9m

Despite being widely reported to be £12m down after paying an undisclosed settlement to Virginia Giuffre in a civil sexual assault case, Prince Andrew is still comfortably off.

Despite being worth millions, the Duke of York has fallen on harder times of late as King Charles is reportedly piling on the pressure to boot him out of the Royal Lodge in Windsor.

His sources of income include his Navy pension and various property deals.

Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet - £3.9m to £7.9m

While online estimates of Prince Archie, six, and three-year-old Princess Lilibet’s fortune could be exaggerated, the children of Meghan Marke and Prince Harry are rumoured to be worth more than many adult members of the Royal family.

Like Prince William’s children, their fortunes comes from inheritances and gifts.

Kate Middleton - £7.9m

Kate’s wardrobe alone is rumoured to be worth £760k, plus her parents are millionaires thanks to their company Party Pieces.

Staggeringly, Kate’s sister Pippa is five times richer than she is, having married billionaire James Matthews.

Harry and Meghan - £47m

Despite stepping down as senior royals in 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are among the richest members of the Royal family.

Harry inherited £10 million from Princess Diana, and on his 40th birthday received a £7.9 million trust fund from the Queen Mother.

Then there’s the proceeds of his controversial tell-all memoir Spare.

Meanwhile, Meghan has her Netflix series With Love, Meghan which was recently renewed for season two, part of the couple’s £80 million contract with streamer.

Meghan was estimated to be worth £3.9 million before she married Harry, thanks to her role in Suits and her lifestyle blog The Tig,

Like Harry, the heir to the throne has also benefited from inheritances from the Queen Mother and Princess Diana, but his major asset is the Duchy of Cornwall.

Between April 2023 and March 2024, William earned £23 million from the duchy in private income.

King Charles - £610 million to £1.8 billion

When the Queen died in 2022, Charles inherited her estate without having to pay any inheritance tax.

A detailed report from The Guardian claimed the King is worth £1.8 billion. His wealth includes £330m in private property, such as Balmoral and Sandringham; £2.3 million from selling horses at auction; a £24 million art collection; £533 million in jewels; and (bizarrely) a £100 million stamp collection. This is in addition to the £20 million he earns each year from the Duchy of Lancaster.

However, a spokesperson for the King called these figures ‘a highly creative mix of speculation, assumption and inaccuracy’, and the Sunday Times rich list has the King’s net worth at £610m.
