Prince William's brutal comment to Queen Camilla during the VE Day celebrations has been revealed, with it being claimed that she acknowledged she needs to 'try harder'.

There aren't many occasions throughout the year where we see all the royals, old and young, join together on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.

But as 5 May marked the 80th anniversary of VE Day - the day Germany surrendered to Europe during World War II - the family got together to watch the annual flypast.

All three children of the Prince and Princess of Wales were present, and they seemed to be keeping their young ones occupied with a little game.

Kate prompted Prince George, Charlotte and Louis to keep their 'eyes on the sky' during the flypast, as they looked up at the coloured smoke coming from the aircrafts.

But a lip reader has allegedly revealed exactly what went down on the most recent balcony appearance.

According to Hello! Magazine, lip reader Nicola Hickling suggested that the family were attempting to keep the children engaged.

Speaking to her seven-year-old, Prince Louis, Kate allegedly said: "When the flypast comes, you will see it smoke blue, white and red."

Looking up at the RAF flypast, he noted: "They have lots of tanks."

It also seems that William has passed his love for planes down to his children, as they played a game of 'guess the aircraft'.

"What is this, George," Kate reportedly said.

"Err that's erm a…I can't see it yet," he responded.

The young prince later identified it as an Atlas aircraft.

It seems that William also tried to get Queen Camilla involved in the game, but apparently she isn't as clued up as the Wales family.

According to Hickling, William said to her: "It's the wrong answer."

To which she responded: "Are we playing this still? I need to try harder."

But Prince George's love of aircrafts is not a new obsession.

During a visit to the 75th anniversary of the Royal Air Force Air Cadets back in 2016, Kate noted that her son was 'obsessed with the air cadets and wants to join'.

Later in 2021, she noted that all her children are now invested in planes. But the fascination makes perfect sense, as their dad served in the military long before they were born.

The now 42-year-old was once a helicopter pilot in the Royal Air Force, serving as a search and rescue pilot for three years.
