Princesses Beatrice and Princess Eugenie received a fair bit of praise after people spotted their quiet name changes.
Ever since King Charles III's decision to strip his younger brother, Andrew, of his royal titles and residence due to new allegations surrounding his relationship with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, royal fans have been keen to know how the move will affect the former Duke of York's family.
Buckingham Palace announced last week (6 November) that the removal process was complete, confirming that he will no longer be referred to as Prince Andrew or the Duke of York - instead, he will now be known simply as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
Sarah Ferguson, Andrew’s ex-wife, was also affected as she lost her courtesy title 'Duchess of York' earlier in October, reverting to her maiden name.

Meanwhile, their two daughters, Beatrice and Eugenie, were not affected. They remain princesses under King George V’s 1917 Letters Patent, which grants the style to all children of a sovereign’s sons.

However, one royal fan pointed out that the sisters have actually been going by a different name altogether and not using their royal titles for quite some time now - before all the Andrew controversy.
They posted last year on X: "Friendly reminder that Beatrice and Eugenie, blood princesses, are known in the professional world as Beatrice and Eugenie York.
"I’m sure their royal status helped give them a leg up but they don’t parade around demanding people call them by their royal titles. Just saying."

A second praised: "Many people have gotten a leg up from family or who they knew. Keeping the job & moving up should be on them. They have done pretty good."
"These are real jobs," agreed a third while another chimed in: "They're genuine."
And a final X user commented: "People that are confident and comfortable with you they are don’t need to remind others."

Beatrice and Eugenie's positions in the line of succession remain unchanged - Beatrice 9th, and Eugenie 12th.
It was also revealed that Beatrice had been handed a new role following her dad's exile from the royal family.
She has been appointed the new Deputy Patron of Outward Bound, a UK-based charity dedicated to helping young people from all backgrounds develop confidence and resilience through experiences in nature and outdoor adventures.
Beatrice has been involved with the organisation since 2019, serving as a trustee. She'll be joining her uncle, Prince Edward, 61, who will act as the Royal Patron of the charity.
