Being a father to three young children can't be easy, especially for a working member of the Royal Family, where public family outings come with the job description.

And by the sounds of things, no one knows that more than Prince William, who has supposedly derived a 'secret game' to keep Princes George and Louis and Princess Charlotte entertained during official business.

The revelation comes after the Wales trio joined parents William and Kate Middleton - as well as grandparents King Charles III and Queen Camilla - on Buckingham Palace's balcony last week.

The royals were there to celebrate the 80th anniversary of VE Day, the day that the Germans eventually surrendered to Europe during WWII, and marked the lives lost during the global warfare.

Much was later said about the Wales children's antics during the annual celebration, with seven-year-old Prince Louis hitting headlines for looking bored, and for grilling his father over the meaning behind festivities.

Kate, 43, meanwhile, seemingly attempted to keep daughter Charlotte's attention by admiring William's military get-up, while Prince George reportedly complained about having his hair in his eyes.

As we say, however, the Prince and Princess of Wales are said to have developed a means of keeping their kids occupied during official royal outings; a guessing game.

It also seems that William has passed his love for planes down to his children, as they played a game of 'guess the aircraft'.

According to lip reader Nicola Hickling, Kate could be seen at one point asking her eldest son, George, 'What is this?', while a plane flew overheard.

The future King, 11, is said to have replied, 'Errr that’s erm a… I can’t see it yet', it is believed Louis then interrupted, shouting out: "It's my turn!"

Kate then reiterated, 'When the flypast comes, you will see it smoke blue, white and red', to which George added: "They have lots of tanks."

According to Hickling, the 11-year-old eventually identified the plane, leaning towards his father and Queen Camilla to tell them: "That’s the Atlas, you know." The youngster then added: "That’s the Poseidon—they are the air fighters."

77-year-old Camilla is said to have then joined in, making a suggestion of her own, to which William savagely replied: "It’s the wrong answer."

"Are we playing this still?" The Queen is said to have laughed off the remark, adding: "I need to try harder."

"That’s a UKMFTS. That’s similar to the Lancaster, I think," William then explained.
